China temperature spread remains wide on November 8

China’s provincial highs span 35°C on November 8. Hainan is the warmest at 32.8°C, followed by Guangdong at 31.5°C and Guangxi at 30.6°C. Heilongjiang is the coolest at -2.2°C, while Jilin reaches 1.6°C and Inner Mongolia 3.8°C. The national mean high is 18°C, leaving a broad contrast between the warmest and coolest areas.

Rain is spread across 10 provincial areas, including Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The national mean high is set to rise to 19.7°C in six days, an increase of about 2°C. Liaoning has the strongest warming, at 11.2°C, while Xinjiang is cooling by about 7°C. The overall pattern is therefore modestly warmer, with sharper changes in some regions.

The warmest city readings are in Hainan: Ledong reaches 32.8°C, Baoting 32.7°C and Changjiang 32°C. Light clothing suits these daytime temperatures. At the other end, Heihe and Hulunbeier both reach only -10.2°C, calling for substantial cold-weather layers. Yushu has the widest day–night range, from 8.7°C to -11.4°C, a difference of 20.1°C, so an extra layer will be useful as temperatures fall after daytime. Diqing also varies widely, from 13.4°C to -6.1°C.
