Even so, the month produced no 35°C+ city-days, and no cities recorded any 35°C+ days, so the warmest afternoons stayed below the hot-day threshold used here.

The coldest nights remained severe in the far north and northern interior. Daxinganling, Heilongjiang, fell to -34.8°C on 28 Feb, while Hulunbeier, Inner Mongolia, also reached -34.8°C on 6 Feb. Hengyang received 182.7 mm over 21 rain days, while Shaoyang had 171.4 mm over 20 rain days and Zhuzhou also had 171.4 mm over 19 rain days. At the dry end, Chuxiong in Yunnan, Baotou in Inner Mongolia and Akesu in Xinjiang each recorded 0 mm, marking a clear contrast with the Hunan totals.

The sharpest one-day temperature falls were led by Chengde, Hebei, which dropped from 19.2°C to 1.3°C on 22 Feb, a change of -17.9°C.
